Cameroon – Concept of professional training of the German Solar Academy of Cameroon (GSA)
The second Cameroon project was then presented by the coordinator of the regional office Klaus Pellmann and the director general of the German Solar Academy of Cameroon, Bertrand Pani Tchiengue. In the first part, the regional office coordinator Klaus Pellmann presented the regional office’s business trip to Cameroon in November 2018. The route across the country, the tasks and the destinations of the trip were presented to the public. In addition to the awarding of certificates, emphasis was placed on the presentation of the joint partnership between the regional office – SRH University – GSA Cameroon and the successes in the establishment of continuous training in the field of solar energy in the cities of Douala and Yaoundé. After a positive look at the future of the joint project with the extension of the training program over the next few years, the general manager of GSA Cameroon, Bertrand Pani Tchiengue, presented the educational establishment. After a brief review of “history” since the foundation in 2015, the educational offer of GSA was at the forefront of its reflections. The continuing education courses, currently offered in Douala and Yaoundé, are of great interest, especially for university graduates. The offers are very individual and are adapted to the prior knowledge of the participants. As a rule, a course lasts six months, the exam to pass according to German standards is recognized by the Cameroonian Ministry of Education. Since its founding, more than 50 participants have been successfully qualified, almost half of them now work in the solar industry as a seller, system operator or system installer. A small success story that will develop soon thanks to enhanced cooperation with the Cameroonian ministry and businesses!
The Embassy Counselor delivered greetings from the Cameroonian Embassy Maryse Nsangou Njikam. She thanked for the invitation and especially highlighted the exemplary work of GSA in Cameroon. The company will continue to count on government support. Solar energy has great potential in Cameroon, but it can only be implemented with the support of our German partners and used to improve local living conditions!
